Mount Ararat Ascent Program

Day 1
LArrival at Agri, Igdir, or Van airport. Transfer to Dogubayazit (approximately 1 hour), a town located at an altitude of 1800 meters. Overnight stay in a 4-star hotel in Dogubayazit, the closest town to Mount Ararat. 

2 Days 

After breakfast at the hotel, around 9 am we leave the hotel and go up to the village of Cevirme or Eli at an altitude of 2200 meters by van. From there we will go up to Ararat Camp 1, which is at an altitude of 3300 meters, in about 5 hours walking on foot. Our packs are carried by mules; we only need to take a small backpack with us to carry water and our picnic basket (fruit, sandwiches, etc.). Overnight in tents at Camp 1, Mount Ararat 

3 Days

Acclimatization Day: After breakfast, we will ascend to Camp 2 at 4200m to improve our acclimatization for the ascent of Mount Ararat in Turkey. We will hike to Camp 2, located at an altitude of 4,200m (approximately 4 hours). After resting for a while, we will descend to Camp 1 where we will sleep in our tents. Our cook will prepare a typical local meal for dinner.

4 Days

After breakfast, we will begin our ascent of Mount Ararat to Camp 2, where we will have the entire afternoon to rest and prepare for the summit attempt. We will sleep in our tents at an altitude of 4,200 meters. Dinner.

5 Days

This day we will wake up early for breakfast, and around 4:00 AM, depending on the guide's decision, we will begin the ascent to the summit of Mount Ararat, at 5,137 meters. In July, crampons are usually necessary for the upper part of the climb. After enjoying the views from the summit, we will descend to Camp 2, where we will take a short break and use some energy-replenishing devices before continuing the descent to Camp 1, where we will spend the night in our tents. Dinner will be served. An optional descent to the hotel is available. 

6 Days

We will wake up at a leisurely pace and, after breakfast, descend to where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Dogubayazit, the nearest town to Mount Ararat. We will spend the rest of the day exploring the town. Overnight stay in a 3-star hotel with breakfast in Dogubayazit. Dinner is on your own.

7 Days

DAfter breakfast, transfer to the airport. End of our tour
