Expedition to Mount Damavand
Trekking to Mount Damavand, Iran: Mount Damavand is the highest peak in the Alborz mountain range, which stretches from the Armenian border to the Caspian Sea in northern Iran and ends at the border of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan at an altitude of 5,670 meters. Damavand is also the highest point in the Middle East and the highest volcano in Asia. An ideal mountain for climbers starting out on 5,000-meter peaks.
Program
1 Day
Arrival in Tehran. Arrival at Imam Khomeini International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Tehran. We will spend the night at our 3-star hotel in Tehran. If our flight arrives early, we will be able to explore the city. Overnight at the hotel.
2 Days
After breakfast, we set off for the mountain, traveling by car to Camp 1 and then by 4x4 vehicle to spend the night there. We slept in tents at Camp 1.
3 Days
Today is a conditional day. In the morning, we'll go to Camp 2 at an altitude of 4200 meters. We'll stay here for a while, conditions not yet determined. We'll ascend to an altitude of 4200 meters and return to our camp in our tents for the night.
4 Days
Camp 1 – Camp 2 (4200 meters above sea level). We returned to Camp 2 to complete our acclimatization process, but this time we stayed at Camp 2. We spent the afternoon resting and preparing for the summit the following morning. We slept in tents or took shelter at home at night.
5 Days
Camp 2 – Damavand (5710 m) – Camp 1 (3200 m). After breakfast, weather permitting, we will begin our ascent to the summit of Damavand. After our final training, we will reach the highest peak in Iran, where we can enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding area. After a long day, we will begin our descent to Camp 1 or Camp 2 to rest. Overnight in a tent or shelter.
6 Days
Second camp – Tehran. From Camp 2, we head to the city of Palour, where we will transfer to our hotel in Tehran. After a few hours of rest, we can begin exploring the city and its most important sites. Arrival at the hotel in the afternoon.
7 Days
After breakfast at the hotel, departure for Tehran for a daily visit to Gorastan Palace, Azad Tower and a cultural tour of the Grand Bazaar.
8 Days
Our group will be transferred to Imam Khomeini International Airport for the end of our tour. Optional tour: Isfahan, Shiraz, Persepolis, and Kashan under the Manda.
