Program

Day 1
Arrival at Agri, Igdir, or Van airport. Transfer to Dogubayazit (approximately 1 hour), a town situated at an altitude of 1,800m. Overnight stay at a 4-star hotel in Dogubayazit, the town closest to Mount Ararat.

Day 2
After breakfast at the hotel, we depart around 9:00 AM and travel by van to the village of Cevirme or Eli (2,200m). From there, we hike up to Ararat Camp 1 (3,300m), a trek taking about 5 hours. Mules carry our main gear; we only need to carry a small daypack with water and a packed lunch (fruit, sandwich, etc.). Overnight in tents at Mount Ararat Camp 1.

Day 3
Acclimatization day. After breakfast, we hike up to Camp 2 (4,200m) to improve our acclimatization for the summit push. We ascend to Camp 2 (approx. 4 hours). After a good rest, we descend to Camp 1 to sleep in our tents. Our cook will prepare a traditional local dinner.

Day 4
After breakfast, we begin the ascent to Camp 2 again. We spend the afternoon resting and preparing for the summit push. We sleep in our tents at an altitude of 4,200m. Dinner.

Day 5
We will rise early for breakfast and—around 4:00 AM, depending on the guide’s decision—begin the ascent to the summit of Mount Ararat (5,137m). In July, crampons are usually required for the upper section of the climb. After enjoying the views from the summit, we will descend to Camp 2 for a short rest and a snack to replenish our energy, then continue the descent to Camp 1, where we will spend the night in our tents. Dinner included (optionally, we can descend to the hotel).

Day 6
We will have a leisurely morning and, after breakfast, descend to the spot where our transport awaits to take us back to Dogubayazit, the town nearest to Mount Ararat. We will spend the rest of the day visiting the town. Accommodation in a 3-star hotel with breakfast in Dogubayazit. Dinner on your own.

Day 7
After breakfast, transfer to the airport; end of the tour.

A payment is required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid 15 days before the trip begins. The Turkish government requires a permit to climb Mount Ararat. Please allow 15 days to obtain the Mount Ararat permit; please send us an email. *A scanned copy of the photo page of your passport. A Mount Ararat (Turkey) permit is mandatory to ensure a smooth ascent; you must send us photocopies of your passports. The Mount Ararat permit is required; you simply need to send us passport photocopies, and we will handle all the arrangements. The price for the Mount Ararat trip depends on the number of participants; please contact us for pricing regarding confirmed group departures.
